DECOLLATION - Cursed Lands

Post by DMR »

SolidSnake311 requested this one. I'd never heard of it before, but he said it was like the Swedish version of Nocturnus, so I had to search for it. I don't think it's a masterpiece like The Key, but it's pretty damn close!

Thanks for this one. I've listened to it once yesterday evening, it's of course technical Death Metal with keyboards but it's far from reaching "The Key"'s level. Interesting, though.

Right now I can't think of any Death Metal recordings I'd like to hear. But if you have any demos from the NWOBHM bands Mournblade and Golgotha, I'd love to hear those!

Sorry i don't have those bands, but i have a NWOBHM band you might find interesting Crucifixtion? I'll look for those bands too.

As for Decollation, it was really cool, they lacked the technicity level of Nocturnus, nevertheless they did a fine album, it was very interesting, like castlevania music gone death metal, it was twisted; very cool.

I was browsing these pages for some thread clean up and stumbled upon this upload. I was listening to this EP yesterday. It is truly one of the worst old swedish metal outputs I've ever heard. Hell, it is even bordering on pure retardation on some points. Lots of keys, stupid vocals and a totally ball-less production. A rerelease is scheduled from The Crypt...

I actually like it, but I'm a Nocturnus fan so it's not surprising :P (I like even Psypheria... just saying)

The Key is a masterpiece. I don't see how these two albums can be compared though. The difference is abysmal.

There is no discussion about that. But I like their clones... and Decollation MCD is not a bad one IMHO.
Tastes :P
