You know i always like to give attention to small unrefered bands. This band is German but in many ways it doesn't remind me of some other German band they remind me of early US metal.Their EP Charged was released in 1985 from Noise records.I got my vynil copy almost for peanuts(3 euro) in Berlin(home of Noise records and band's of course).Strange but i have never seen anyone comment this band and also never seen it in a store for selling.Neither Mp'3 exist for trade(?) no good or bad reviews. And i wonder does this band deserves to be unmentioned? This band is pure classic metal in my opinion.Their style remind me of Medieval Steel but in many ways a lot better.Achim Hemme isn't for sure worser than Bobby Franklin. The playing is better(hear some riffs and song structures and you will understand) and with 5 hymns instead of one hit wonder Medieval Steel.
Because this band(Ballantinez) isn't released by themselves(yes some bands were lucky but that doesn't mean they don't deserve it),because they don't speak about swords and sorcery, because they are not from USA-UK,and after all because the most collectors believe that a 50 Euro album is always better than a 3 Euro album or a 200 Euro album is also better than a 50 Euro etc. They are so unknown.I don't know injustice rules the world even in underground 80's metal...They are not the only one sadly ,tons of band are/were give no attention at all despite their worthyness.
Anyway Ballantinez is a European metal gem and definitely one of the best (20?-30?) European EP's.

Re: Ballantinez
Really? I think I've only given it a spin in a store long ago and wrote it off as mediocre hard rock, but memories are sketchy. Guess I'll give em another go then. I think I've seen several copies in local stores.Fucking Åmål wrote:This band is pure classic metal in my opinion.Their style remind me of Medieval Steel but in many ways a lot better.
You're definitely on to something there.Fucking Åmål wrote:Because this band(Ballantinez) isn't released by themselves(yes some bands were lucky but that doesn't mean they don't deserve it),because they don't speak about swords and sorcery, because they are not from USA-UK,and after all because the most collectors believe that a 50 Euro album is always better than a 3 Euro album or a 200 Euro album is also better than a 50 Euro etc. They are so unknown.I don't know injustice rules the world even in underground 80's metal...They are not the only one sadly ,tons of band are/were give no attention at all despite their worthyness.

the karmic wheel has been turning ...
It's so tempting to think how would be this, how would be that, if thinks would be like this way or that way, etc. Some records should not be recorded at all, while quite a few were recorded but not released. How many talents hadn't had a chance to get a record, I better not even think. Oh, heck! ...
I am ... the One you warned me of
