Though this is powerful stuff, it doesn't immediately click with me. I will listen more 'cause this has been hyped to high heavens so I'm pretty certain I'll get to love it when I know it better.
And not without reason it's praised, this record has a real great obscure "Italien" feeling, totally metal, it's divine and that voice is nothing less then perfect. Records that don't click immediately normally turn out to be the best ever, see Cirith Ungol, old Fates Warning etc...
Personally I this is as direct, catchy & easy-getting-into as Metal can get, i.e. quite the opposite of bands like CIRITH UNGOL and the more "typical" Obscure Italian Metal-acts. What makes it even more special is that this instant likeability never fades for me. It's aging very well, like all top-class Metal should.
I liked it the first time I heard those crappy-sounding files at Vibrations of Doom. Now that I can actually hear the details, I like it even more. Great album!
Apparently they recorded some demos before and after Victim of Time. Has anyone heard them?
Never heard the demo's, but apparently they seem to be not as great as this unbelievable great record, I was also hooked on first listen. I can remember that only the weird middle section of the third song was a strange listening experience, but now it logically fits between the rest of the songs, that great acoustic part sounds totally great, ah , what a great record
