Re: CULT OF THE UNDERDOG Podcast : Episode 23 Now Available!
Thanks, as always, to everybody who lends COTU their ears & support. It's very much appreciated.
I think the current episode was the highest charting one so far, though it's hard to quantify precisely what that means. If anything.

Here then, finally, is the full tracklist for episode 23:
01. LALO SCHIFRIN - Medical Centre Theme (from the 'Medical Centre' aka 'Calling Dr. Gannon' TV OST (1976))
02. BALTIK - Leslie Briggs (aka 'Cult Of The Underdog' Theme) (from the 'Baltik' LP (1973))
03. O.P.M. - Intro (from the 'Cheap Is The Price' anthology LP (1980-1982))
04. WHIZKEY STIK - Visions Of The Storm (from the 'On The Level' anthology LP (1976-1980))
05. NUDESWIRL - Buffalo (from the 'Nudeswirl' LP (1993))
06. CITY - Hot Rocks In Hiroshima (from the 'Hundreds And Thousands' Various Artists compilation LP (1983))
07. JOHN PARKER - Collywobbles (from the 'Medical Centre' aka 'Calling Dr. Gannon' TV OST (1976))
08. BLACK FLAG - Wasted (from the 'Nervous Breakdown' EP (1978))
09. STONE ZOO - No More Lies (from the 'Stone Zoo' Demo (1994))
10. THE FROST - It's So Hard (from the 'Through The Eyes Of Love' LP (1970))
11. TEAZE - Come On, Hold On (from the 'Teaze' LP (1976))
12. TAGGETT - Squares To A Circle (from the 'Taggett' LP (1973))
13. THE HUMPERS - (I'm) Watching You (from the 'Journey To The Center Of Your Wallet' LP (1994))
14. KINGDOM - Back To The Farm (from the 'Kingdom' LP (1970))
15. AURORA - If I Really Knew Her (from the 'I'll Be Your Fantasy' 7" (1982))
16. KENNEBEC - Sanctuary (from the 'Kennebec' EP (2007))
17. AXE MINISTER - Protectors Of The Line (from the 'Reel To Reel' Demo (1984))
18. KAROLINE - Sniff L'odeur Des Camions (Sniff The Smell Of Trucks) (from the 'Karoline' LP (1980))
19. MONSTER MAGNET - I'm God (from the 'Mindfucker' LP (2018))
20. STORMBRINGER - Life Sentence (Outro) (from the 'Life Sentence' LP (1985))
(It's the New Zealand band rather than any of the other Stormbringers)
Further eclectic explorations in the field of sonic tomfoolery to follow in August if you're up for doing this all over again.

Well, I was going to say that I haven't expected to hear NUDESWIRL within COTU set up, but I should have been thinking that eventually they will be part of it. Eventually and they are now. Again, I haven't recognized MONSTER MAGNET. Dave's voice was kinda masked, otherwise is true, I don't know them that well. As hinted earlier in the thread, TAGGETT are its highight for me, not far behind them are KINGDOM.

In all honesty, i hadn't previously heard Nudeswirl until about a month ago when the song i included here popped up on an old episode of 'Beavis & Butthead' & caught my ear. Inspiration can come from the unlikeliest of sources.Noisenik wrote: ↑Sun Jun 15, 2025 8:42 pm Well, I was going to say that I haven't expected to hear NUDESWIRL within COTU set up, but I should have been thinking that eventually they will be part of it. That Kingdom album doesn't get mentioned very much for some reason but it's a consistently good listen throughout, with plenty of the olde 'period colour'. A nicely balanced blend of really well written & performed Heavy Rock & Psych, mostly in the form of tight concise songs rather than the lengthy self-indulgence that's often found on records of that vintage. I think you may well enjoy it Nenad.
