Hello guys!
I'm gonna be in Spain next june, so I'm looking for good metal festivals to atend.
I got to be there by the end of june, so I'm thinking to extend until first week of august or start at the end of may.
Barcelona Rock fest is gonna happen on the days I'm going to be there but I'm looking for more underground 80s metal KIT style festivals!
Musklerock and Headbangers open air are some options depending on my trip plans!
Any other recommendations? Something on Spain, France, north of Italy, Belgium, Netherlads, North germany, Austria, Denmark, Sweden may be better option...
Thanks!!

Alongside those you mentioned, I suggest the following. Apologies if any fall outside of the time you're here, but I suppose might be useful to others in the thread or if you extend your stay!
Metal Magic (Denmark)
Thrash Nightmare (Czechia)
Old Grave (Romania)
Up The Hammers (Greece)
Trveheim (Germany)

Thanks for the recommendations!
Will check the italian bands! Thanks for the tip!
I'm going to Barcelona Rock Festival since I'm gonna be there and them decide between HOA and muskelrock!
Just waiting Muskelrock lineup to decide it, but so far HOA has more bands I haven't seem yet! Althought it's in the middle of nowhere and I'm looking for some place to stay near it....
Would like to see King Diamond and Killer on the supposed farewell tour as I've never saw them as well, but don't think it's gonna happen at least for Killer!
Trying to put the more I can in a month period with less money hahahah
Metal Magic is the only one that's gonna happen while I'm there, so may be an option!nattskog wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 1:06 pm Alongside those you mentioned, I suggest the following. Re: Metal festival Recommendations
I do hope you manage to squeeze in as many fests as you can while in Europe & have a great time. It would be cool to hear how you got on after it's all over.
I've heard good things about Hellfest in France & there are plenty of great old-skool Metal bands on the bill there this year (Scorpions, Exodus, Pentagram, Judas Priest, Tankard, Savatage, Sacred Reich, ADX, Orange Goblin, Ross The Boss etc.) & cool bands from other genres too (Sex Pistols, The Cult, Refused, The Damned, Masters Of Reality, Jerry Cantrell, The Hellacopters, Gorilla Biscuits, Turbonegro etc.)
There's also a lot of shit on the bill too, but that's just the way it is with these big fests.
I cannot, I shall not, I will not obey.

Re: Metal festival Recommendations
Yop,
Hellfest is/was truly a crazy fest, and is really a thing you have to do if you want both to see a tons of bands and having the feeling of being at Disney Land. Negative side is that it became insanely expensive and everything is sold out as soon as tickets are put for sale. It’s been 8 years I haven’t gone there, but if you manager to get a ticket, it will sure be interesting but it’s a huge event… (good and bad sides to it)
By the end of may, you’ll also have the « Courts of chaos » fest, with Crimson Glory, Quartz, Attacker, Varathron and other great stuff. I’ve heard many good feedbacks from people who went there (nice people, friendly fest size…).

Those festivals may be cool to go like being at disneyland, but honestly makes me a little lazy to go to these huge ones! And as you said to expensive as well!Kraignoss666 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2025 9:10 am Yop,

And for the bands on the line up, most of them play here too! The only one I would really like to see on that bill that I haven't is ADX!
That's what I'm trying to do! My priority is to see the most I can of the ones I have never seen or rarely play here!bigfootkit wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2025 3:32 am

Still waiting some announcements and figuring what to do! Would like to start with Heavy Sound in Belgium and finish with Headbangers open air, going to others in between! But to long to stay, and a lot of money needed hahahahah
Re: Metal festival Recommendations

I wish you a successful trip (with a great soundtrack) & look forward to hearing how you got on with it all once the dust settles.ujr_metal wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2025 2:43 pmThat's what I'm trying to do!
