First wave black metal
I’m putting together a DJ set of early black metal, I have some essentials already of course, sodom, bathory, nme, poison etc. I’m looking for a few others I may not have heard of or thought of to throw in though. Stuff with plenty of evil atmosphere along the lines of “under the sign of the black m...

Re: A database of lost inserts - new site feature!
I've heard there was originally a colour insert with the Green Metal, new Irish heavy metal compilation but my copy just has a blank one. If anyone has this colour insert I'd love to see it!

Re: Greek Heavy Metal?
What genres are you into, to focus my recommendations on? Get a sample of my favorite album for 2017 as an appetizer: Ah forgot to mention wrathblade, another one I've been checking out as they're playing the festival. Looking for classic heavy metal really. Just inte...

Greek Heavy Metal?
I'm visiting Greece for a festival this Summer and realised I'm suprisingly ignorant of the metal scene there. I know some of the black metal bands from the 90s of course but as far as more traditional stuff the only one I know well is Macedon Harriers, I've also been checking out Northwind as they'...

Re: Heavy load/glacier/witch cross type reccomendations
I think Gotham City "The Unknown" and Emeral "Armed for Battle" should fill the bill. Gargoyle might fit the decription too, although their music does not sound that straightofward. How about Viper's debut? Some others which might belong her too (even though not exactly what you...

This is great, hadn't heard the EP yet. I'll have to pick it up. Loved the "Rising" demo though.rumblefist wrote:If you wish to support a new band, i can recommend this :

Heavy load/glacier/witch cross type reccomendations
Looking for some new music, specifically heavily guitar lead driven, melodic traditional metal with clean vocals. Lyrics relating to fantasy/ history/ mythology would be a definite plus. The best bands I could think of as an idea of the sort of stuff I'm thinking of are heavy load and glacier. Sorry...

Re: Nationalistic metal in the 80s?
Maybe SU TA GAR? But I'm not sure at all if their lyrics deal with basque nationalism... There is one point though: nationalism is NOT the same thing as any nazi or racist ideologies. Enjoying Su Ta Gar, good shout! Didn't know of any bands that sing in Basque before. Agreed, important distinction ...

Nationalistic metal in the 80s?
New to the forum after discovering the site a few days ago and enjoying the hell out of the features and reviews on here. Best site for metal I've found in a long while. Hopefully I'm putting this in the right place, apologies if not! So anyway my question is regarding white pride or nationalistic m...
