Hastur was a really obscure and underrated Black Metal band from Peru. Formed in 1984 as Veneno Maldito by the four schoolmates Carlos Barcia on vocals, the colombian born Martin Morales on guitars, Sascha Quintanilla on bass and Lucho Maura on drums. They played a mix of Slayer, Hellhammer and Venom and recorded a rehearsal called "Ten Ton of Noise" between 1984 and 1985. In 1986 they changed their name to Hastur and their live debut was in 1987 at a rock contest called 1er Concurso de Rock No Profesional in the No Helden, making a big impact with the metalheads.
The same year they recorded their demo "Secta Hereje" though it was distributed only to their close circle of friends. In 1988 they played at the "Ataque Metal" show in El Tunel and the "Holocausto Metal" in the Campo de Marte. Their last two shows were at Manotas disco in Chosica and finally they split in 1989. In 2013 Putrescense Recs released the demo "Secta Hereje" plus bonus tracks on 12" vinyl.
