Apocalipsis was formed in Ayacucho city in 1985 by Nereo Quintanilla on bass, Edwin Quintanilla on guitar and vocals, Walter Mendoza on drums and Walter Yupanqui on second guitar and vocals. They started out playing covers of Black Sabbath and Riff. In 1986 they played at the first chapla rock festival with the band Temporal in their presentation in Ayacucho. In 1987 they participated in the non-professional rock competition in the city of Lima, reaching the semifinal but could not continue due to lack of funds. In that shows Edwin Vásquez played the drums, who later became the drummer of Deicidios in the 90s.
