CARL GREEN AND THE SCENE - Wam! Post-punk/new wave. Winners of the 1980 competition, resulting in the release of an LP.
E.M.F. - Anti-Bellum Coventry ska band. As one of the runner-ups, RCA released this song as a single.
OHIBO PARONTI - Do It Again Pop/rock.
100% PROOF - Bad Boy Sounds like AC/DC with Jess Cox on vocals, and therefore is no different than their album material.
THE NERVES - Back Street Mafia Powerpop.
ASYLUM - Nowhere To Run Great melodic NWOBHM that reminds me of CACUMEN's debut. They were from Merseyside according to Malc Macmillan's Encyclopedia.
Tracklist side B:
XENA ZEROX - Seconds Female fronted new wave/punk band who were also rewarded with the release of a single.
COBRA - Stop Crying Not to be confused with the Warriors Of The Dead COBRA, or the Lookin' For A Lady COBRA, the Suffolk-based COBRA sound like a sloppy DARK STAR. Could have been one of those great overlooked compilation tracks but misses the mark in a few places.
PRETTY BOY FLOYD - Take Me I'm Yours A little punk, a little pop, a lot terrible.
ARROWMATIC TORS - I Guilty Mind Post-punk.
TIME FLIES - Go Reggae-ish powerpop.
LOUIS AND THE LOOK - Flight 401 Dark melodic rock. Quite good actually.
