Possibly the most well-known name in Malaysian Steel among international collectors, together with Crossfire. Saxo could also count as the heaviest, at least among the album-releasing bunch, but that hardly makes them brütal deathrashing hellrippers by any means. The style of "Satu Perjuangan" lies closer to bands like Annihilator, Overkill, early RAGE etc. They do pull off the Speed/Power/Thrash-grayzone thing without any major blunders, but hand on heart, in this particular genre there were numerous bands from all over the world their betters. Also, Wan's vocals aren't quite up to par with the rather high Malay average.
Some tracks do stand out, and personal favourites among their admittedly solid selection of proper (as in non-ballad) material would be the 6+ min mid-pace 'tallica-pounder "Ciptakan Kenyataan", the snappy early-Helloween-style PowerSpeed'ster "Tak Kalah" and that Nuclear Assault-flavoured chorus in "Kematian".
Ok, this review might come off a bit stumped & slagg'y, but I think it's because this was one of the first Malaysian Metal LPs I ever heard and while I really dug the album way back then, so much more impressive material has come to my attention from this scene after years of surface-scratching..
Still, "Satu Perjuangan" definitely belongs in the top quarter of the country's HM pyramid.
Sadly the band split up a few months after the release of the album, so the only other releases that exist with the band is a 12" single with 2 of the featured ballads, "Dukacarita Cinta" and "Nyalakan Cinta Ku", as well as 2 compilation appearences predating the album.
