I cannot remember right now that I've ever seen such a cover artwork yet. No, I don't mean the logo with normal letters that's printed on the black sleeve, but these 4 californian rockers somehow refined the simple logo while using a kinda silver foil! It for sure has something special that automaticaly will attract you. I bought my copy sealed for a few bucks only 2 or 3 years ago since I guess most buyers are scared due to the band's name and how should they know that they've nothing in common with a Rock band at all? Rock Asylum are one of these underrated private pounding US Metal bands with minor Glam touch, always powerful sounding but with a few commercial influences at places that somehow do not affect the quality of their steel at all imo. By goat you should hear "Higher" and it's raging guitar solo, absolutely typical US Metal with more screaming instead of singing vocalist, just what you expect by getting such a record! Alone "Closer to me" is the loser of this mini album, a total Glam sucker, but already "Danger zone" on the B-side can fully compensate this mistake. A power/speed grenade that will make your heads banging till judgement day's near!
Unfortunately the guys itself do look like "Closer to me" sounds like...hehe, but as long as they do sound like as they do sound like, I can live with this cruel fact. To resume: pounding US Metal, squealing guitars, vocalist = screamer, gay looks, private pressing...any reason to ignore them? I guess not! Just one warning, my copy was slightly warped due to the shitty shrink wrap (I hate sealed records!) but after 3 hair dryer attacks I got it at least playable. So better be prepared to meet thy vinyl wave!
